Morning Worship

Welcome & Announcements

Prelude

Call to Worship - Psalm 103:13–14
As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him. For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.

Pastor: Come, behold the Father whose compassion never fails.

People: We come to worship the God who loves, disciplines, and restores
His children.

*Hymn of Adoration No. 32 - Great Is Thy Faithfulness

*Invocation & Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come,
your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

*Confession of Faith - Westminster Confession of Faith, 12.1
All those that are justified, God vouch-safeth, in and for his only Son Jesus Christ, to make partakers of the grace of adoption, by which they are taken into the number, and enjoy the liberties and privileges of the children of God, have his name put upon them, receive the Spirit of adoption, have access to the throne of grace with boldness, are enabled to cry, Abba, Father, are pitied, protected, provided for, and chastened by him, as by a father: yet never cast off, but sealed to the day of redemption; and inherit the promises, as heirs of everlasting salvation.

*Hymn of Consecration No. 708 - O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go

Scripture Reading - Hebrews 12:1–11

Prayer of Confession (responsive)

Pastor: Heavenly Father, You call us to follow Jesus wherever He leads, and yet we confess that we shrink back when obedience becomes costly.

People: Lord, have mercy on us and forgive us.

Pastor: We confess that we often resist Your will, especially when it seems to differ from our desires.

People: Forgive us when we trust our own wisdom more than Your perfect plan.

Pastor: We confess that we fear suffering, avoid sacrifice, and seek our comfort above faithfulness.

People: Forgive us for loving ease more than obedience and safety more than discipleship.

Pastor: We have failed to surrender our lives fully into Your hands and have doubted Your goodness in times of trial.

People: Forgive our unbelief and strengthen our faith.

Pastor: Create in us clean hearts, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit in us.

All: Grant us willing hearts to follow Christ, trusting that Your will is good and perfect. We pray this in Jesus’ holy name. Amen.

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
