Morning Worship

Welcome & Announcements

Prelude

*Call to Worship - Jeremiah 6:16a, Psalm 119:105, & Isaiah 2:5b
Thus says the LORD: “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.” Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Come, let us walk in the light of the Lord!

*Invocation

*Hymn of Adoration No. 76 - Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven

*Corporate Prayer of Confession
Sovereign and Holy Father; we confess that we have often walked with unexamined feet. We have relied on good intentions while wandering down foolish and dangerous roads. We have swerved into fear, bitterness, ambition, compromise, and self-righteous pride, making excuses for our deviations rather than turning back to You. Forgive us, O Lord, for our carelessness and straying ways. Cleanse our past wanderings in the precious, poured-out blood of Jesus Christ. By Your Spirit, grant us discerning hearts to weigh our paths and grace to return whenever we turn aside. Amen.

*Words of Assurance - 1 Peter 2:24–25 & Isaiah 30:21
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.

*Hymn of Assurance No. 465 - Marvelous Grace of Our Loving Lord

Pastoral Prayer

Confession of Faith - Westminster Larger Catechism 77

Q. Wherein do justification and sanctification differ?
A. Although sanctification be inseparably joined with justification, yet they differ, in that God in justification imputes the righteousness of Christ; in sanctification his Spirit infuses grace, and enables to the exercise thereof; in justification, sin is pardoned; in sanctification, it is subdued; justification does equally free all believers from the revenging wrath of God, and that perfectly in this life, that they never fall into condemnation; sanctification is neither equal in all, nor in this life perfect in any, but growing up to perfection.

Evening Worship

Welcome

*Call to Worship - Psalm 117
Praise the LORD, all nations! Extol him, all peoples! For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD!

*Invocation

*Hymn of Adoration No. 55 - To God Be the Glory

*Scripture Reading - Hebrews 3:7–15
Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says,
“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years. Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart; they have not known my ways.’ As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest.’ ”Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. As it is said,
“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
