Mike & Robin McMahan

Mission to the World / Chattanooga, TN

Mike and Robin McMahan are excited to serve the Global Church with Equipping Farmers International (EFI) and serve in Panama City, Panama. EFI exists to engage the global church in agricultural discipleship that results in food security and improved livelihoods, and now has work in over 60 countries training farmers in conservation agriculture.  EFI works through the local church and uses a curriculum rooted in the Scriptures to disciple farmers to better steward their land and other resources. EFI asks, “What if the Church could feed itself and the World?” Mike serves as coordinator of EFI’s internship program, coordinator for placement of International trainers, and as the prayer co-coordinator for the organization.  Robin serves as director of stewardship and savings groups for EFI.  Her goal is to help start savings groups through local churches in conjunction with farming networks in places that have poor access to or mistrust of banking. Robin also serves as co-coordinator for prayer initiatives for EFI.  In addition, both Mike and Robin will serve on the Latin America EFI training team. They will help with trainer training throughout Latin America. For more information about EFI, please see the website here: https://www.efi-intl.org/

We are so thankful for First Presbyterian Church’s continued partnership with us. We are trying to make sure that all of our giving goes through Equipping Leaders International. We are including the donation link here: https://donorbox.org/mikerobinmcmahan

Prayer needs:

  • Pray for the development of the savings group program. This is something new for EFI and will take some time to figure out.
  • Pray for wisdom for Robin on where to pilot early saving groups.
  • Pray for Robin as she continues to visit ladies from the church.
  • Pray for Mike as he thinks through what diaconal training could look like in their local church.
  • Pray for them as they hope to help the team here in Panama to grow opportunities for the gospel through agricultural discipleship.
  • Pray for our relationship with God to remain rooted in the Word and in prayer.
