Morning Worship

Welcome & Announcements

Prelude

Call to Worship - Ephesians 1:3–4
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.

Invocation

*Hymn No. 100 - Holy, Holy, Holy!

*Responsive Confession of Faith - Romans 6:1–4

What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound?

By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?

Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

*Hymn No. 335 - Gracious Spirit, Dwell with Me

Prayer of Confession

Assurance of Pardon - Isaiah 12:1–2
I will give thanks to you, O LORD, for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, that you might comfort me. “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.”

Evening Worship

Welcome

Call to Worship - Psalm 95:1–2
Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

Invocation

*Hymn No. 55 - To God Be the Glory

Scripture Reading - Acts 4:1–12
And as they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them, greatly annoyed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. And they arrested them and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. But many of those who had heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to about five thousand.
On the next day their rulers and elders and scribes gathered together in Jerusalem, with Annas the high priest and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and all who were of the high-priestly family. And when they had set them in the midst, they inquired, “By what power or by what name did you do this?” Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders, if we are being examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed, let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead––by him this man is standing before you well. This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Prayer of Confession - (responsive)
God our Father, we confess to you and to our fellow members in the body of Christ, that we have sinned in thought, word, and deed, and in what we have failed to do.

Give us insight into the workings and motives of our hearts. Make us truly sorry.

Forgive us our sins; give us a thirst for what is good, true and beautiful; let us be ruled by your grace and holiness.

Just and merciful God, forgive us and free us from our sins, heal and strengthen us to new life in Christ our Lord. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon - Isaiah 53:6, 12
We all, like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all… He bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.

*Hymn No. 645 - Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee

Pastoral Prayer

Sermon
Jephthah: Israel's Rejected Savior
Pastor Moore
Judges 10:17–12:7

*Hymn No. 705 - I Know Whom I Have Believed

*Benediction

*Please stand if you are able.
