Prayer of Confession - (unison)
Almighty God, You have called us to follow Your Son, who did not come to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many. But we confess that we are often more concerned with defending our rights than denying ourselves for the good of others. Jesus willingly laid aside His rights, humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death – even death on a cross, so that we might have life. Grant us the grace to follow in His steps, counting nothing too precious to surrender for Your sake and for the good of Your people.
Forgive us, renew us, and strengthen us through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who loved us and gave Himself for us. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon - 2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
