"O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you." - Psalm 63:1–3

Call to Worship Psalm 63:1–3
O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.
Invocation
*Hymn No. 370 Revive Thy Work, O Lord
*Confession of Faith The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy *catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
*The word catholic refers to all true believers throughout all ages.
*Hymn No. 87 The Lord’s My Shepherd, I’ll Not Want
Unison Confession of Sin (Based on Psalm 51)
Have mercy on us, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out our transgressions. Wash us thoroughly from our iniquity, and cleanse us from our sin! For we know our transgressions, and our sin is ever before us. Against you, you only, have we sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified
in your words and blameless in your judgment. Purge us with hyssop, and we shall be clean; wash us, and we shall be whiter than snow. Hide your face from our sins, and blot out all our iniquities. Create in us clean hearts, O God, and renew a right spirit within us. Restore to us the joy of your salvation, and uphold us with a willing spirit. Then we will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you.
Assurance of Pardon Isaiah 43:25
I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.

Call to Worship Philippians 4:4–6
Rejoice in the LORD always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The LORD is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Invocation
*Hymn No. 310 Rejoice, the Lord Is King
Scripture Reading Psalm 9:1–8; 15–16
I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart;
I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.
I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name,
O Most High.
When my enemies turn back,
they stumble and perish before your presence.
For you have maintained my just cause;
you have sat on the throne, giving righteous judgment.
You have rebuked the nations; you have made the wicked perish;
you have blotted out their name forever and ever.
The enemy came to an end in everlasting ruins;
their cities you rooted out;
the very memory of them has perished.
But the LORD sits enthroned forever;
he has established his throne for justice,
and he judges the world with righteousness;
he judges the peoples with uprightness…
The nations have sunk in the pit that they made;
in the net that they hid their own foot
has been caught.
The LORD has made himself known; he has executed judgment;
the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands.
Confession of Sin (unison)
Forgive us, O Lord, for everything that spoils our witness for You, including what we deny with our lives, what we say with our lips, the difference between our creed and our conduct, and our profession and our practice. Grant to us a true repentance of our sins. Please grant, O merciful God, for Jesus’ sake, that we may live holy, just, and humble lives to the glory of your holy name, Amen.
Assurance of Pardon John 5:24
Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
